was taking a cab to work today and heard something interesting on the radio. the topic was - what defines an auntie? and it got me thinking.. how should i address those jie jies and kor kors who have watched me grow up? still address them as 'XX jie jie' or 'YY kor kor'? some of them are married with kids.

it feels weird addressing them as jie jie or kor kor cos they are so uncle and auntie alreayd. and yet it feels just as weird to address as auntie and uncle. and i could never bring myself to call them by their names. it's just so.. so.. so... impolite. (dunno how to ang mohs do it)

and how are aunties and uncles defined?

- middle aged
- out of shape
- don't take care of their outward appearance
- thinning hair (balding for men)
- talking loudly (ie. uncouth/chor lor)
- watching korean dramas/drinking beer
- heaps of free time

then obviously i'm an auntie (minus the middle age, drinking beer and thinning hair parts) and i'm just barely 'in shape' hahahahaah! i'm an auntie! hooray for aunties! aunties of the world unite! or i cld just attribute the fact that i'm an auntie to my working environment. which has caused me to become uncomfortably haggy. ~_~ awesome lah!
